Nick Sutherland

What started as a boy’s fascination grew into a lifelong passion for sharing music with others. Over the years, Nick has played at school events, family gatherings, and fireside jam sessions, always finding joy in connecting people through music. His experiences inspired him to write “Guitar Basics for Kids”, a book created from the heart, designed to make learning fun, simple, and encouraging.

When he’s not writing or teaching, Nick loves to travel, especially to the Philippines, where he volunteers to teach underprivileged children the gift of music. He believes that every child deserves a chance to discover their creative voice.

This book is more than just a lesson plan because it’s Nick’s way of passing down a legacy that began with his own father, Gerry Knight, lead guitarist of the Country Cougars. Through his teaching and writing, Nick continues to remind young learners that music isn’t about perfection but joy, connection, and the courage to play your heart out.
